Life is full of surprises!
Ahhh life! The saying that it is full of surprises, sure is true isn’t it! I realized that I haven’t written a blog post in a really, really long time! The truth of the matter is I have lost track of the days focusing on other things and I honestly wasn’t sure when to write what I really had in my heart. There have been so many changes in the last few years. Some would even call them lessons, but without those hard lessons I would not be where I am today! I am so grateful for them; although in all fairness I wish I had learnt some of them a lot sooner and faster than others. As I sit here writing this in one of my best friends coffee shops I can’t help but think to myself, “life sure is good” I give thanks to God for my blessings and for all of the hard lessons I had to learn. I am turning 50 in a few months so perhaps I am more full of self-reflection than in previous years. We now have three locations for my homes staging and design business two are in Canada (London and Kelowna BC) and one in Grand Cayman Islands. I have gone through so many changes in order to get here and in doing so have met the love of my life and together we have a small boy named Jack. My son Tyler is doing amazing in Kelowna and is happy living his passion biking and doing his electrical job during the day. He has an amazing woman by his side and she has taken on our Kelowna location! I never dreamed of being where I am today, a couple years ago. I am a person that looks back on things and if I can provide any advice to my younger audience it would be to trust your gut. When people show you who they are believe them the first time. Some experiences are here to teach us things and to not all battles are won with a fight; some are won with living our best lives! Children have a way of showing us how to live in the moment and be mindful. Learn from them, as they find joy in the simple things. Always remember that you are your greatest project, you can’t pour from an empty cup and be grateful for those hard lessons as now you can teach others.
Love Jilly xx
